Dylan

It's amazing to me that Dylan is 5 months old!! It seems like just yesterday that I was watching him be born and watching my daughter in amazement as she experienced a moment unlike any other!! It reminded me so much of when she was born and yet, at the same time, reminded me that she has grown up! She is such a great mommy and Dylan is such a happy little guy! I only wish they were closer-- I feel as though I'm missing way too much- and they are definitely only little once!

Father/Daughter Dance

Jon and Meghan went to a Father/Daughter Valentine's dance tonight and had a really good time. The dance studio put it on and there were decorations, food, and quite a few people. Meghan had a really great time and really enjoyed dancing with her daddy!!

Meghan really enjoyed dressing up in her new dress and her "high heels!" She got new earrings and a birthstone necklace and I'm pretty sure she was feeling like a princess by the time they left the house.

Way to Go Trevor!!

Trevor tested last week for his green belt and found out tonight that he passed!! We are so proud of him! He got a little nervous because they accidentally passed over him and moved on to the next level- they had gotten a little messed up didn't have it quite right. I asked Trevor when it was over whether he was nervous and he said, "Yeah mom- I even started to sweat a little!!" I was waiting for the tears when they first didn't call his name but he did good and didn't cry! Turned out he got his belt- they just had him in the wrong file.

Mudder??

Well, I've decided that, although there are plenty of positives with having kids spread out over the years, there are definitely some negatives as well-- well, actually, there's pretty much only 1 thing that I've found to be a huge negative---- ATTITUDE!!

Connor was irritating Meghan yesterday and i asked him to stop... of course, he kept on doing it and so she starts screaming even louder..... well, I finally said, "Connor Gordon, did you hear me?" He so politely looked at me and said, "Yes, I hear you. I hear you, mudder."

Oh, the joys of kids...............

Clinton Third Graders Present...............

Trevor had his 3d grade play today and he really did a great job! His class and 1 or 2 others did a play about saving the Rain Forest and they really did a fabulous job! It was really obvious that a lot of time and effort when into this play which was refreshing to see in the public school system!

I'm going to post a video of the play too- it's one of Trevor's parts. The video also shows the backs of several heads as I was videoing and trying to corral Connor at the same time.

A Beautiful Day at the Park

Yesterday was the most gorgeous day that we have had here in Mississippi in a while. We planted a couple of trees in the yard, a rose bush in the flower bed, and then decided to take the kids for a picnic at the park.

It's hard to believe sometimes that they are growing up so fast. Watching them play at the park, with Connor climbing everywhere that he probably shouldn't have, Jon looked at him at one point while he was climbing up a curved ladder and said, "I remember when you were too scared to climb this ladder and now look!" Sadly, I remember as well, and now he's not scared of climbing anything-- although he sure scares me!

Skating for 6!!

Jon and I have both tried to come up with the correct amount of time that has passed since either one of us have been on roller skates.... I don't believe either one of us was successful! I know that it's been at least 11 years because that's how long we've been together and we've just never thought to go skating.

Well our good friends invited us to a birthday party for their youngest daughter, Sarah Beth, and it was at the skating rink here in town. Jon and I, for whatever strange reason, decided that we would skate too! And, amazingly enough, we never even fell-- not once! The kids had so much fun- it was Trevor, Meghan, and Connor's first time skating so they spent a lot of time hanging on to the wall- and Trevor spent a lot of time on the floor, but they are all anxious to go again! Connor had his skate wheels tightened up some and so he ran a lot-- which of course made me a nervous wreck! We all had a really great time and are looking forward to Trevor's birthday which he decided was going to be there as well!

The Monster Trucks

Well, we went to the Monster Truck show in Jackson on the 18th of January and the kids had a great time! The show is definitely not as big as the one we used to go to in San Antonio but the kids still enjoyed it! They had moto-cross jumpers jumping these huge ramps and the kids thought that was really neat-- all I could think was that I was so happy that my kids don't do those things because, as a mom, that would scare me to death!

Kyle's girlfried, Sarah, went with us to the Monster Trucks. I think she had a good time!
